Sue Beckitt at the sewing machine... hooked on sewing

Don't know the difference between a flat seam and a French seam? Bamboozled by button holes? Terrified of zips? Join Sue Beckitt in a course designed for beginners or experienced sewers and you could save money by learning or perfecting the skill of creating your own clothes.

“I love teaching beginners,” Sue said. “It's such a buzz to watch people go from being an absolute beginner to loving it so much they'd rather sew than do anything else! We start off with simple projects and the emphasis is on having fun. I taught myself to sew when I was 14, enrolled in an Adult Education class when I was 17, went to TAFE to learn professional sewing skills about 12 years ago and have taught at Adult Education ever since! All sorts of people come to the classes for all sorts of reasons … and they all have fun!”
